Huge Police (the group!) fan here - it is supposedly creepy but Sting sings it with such longing and feeling you kind of get into it - and I can understand the sentiment of the lyrics as well. :) Now I want to listen to the albums here at work.
Also SOE does know when we have days off - it always seems like that for me too!
